Session Zero Heroes - A TTRPG Actual Play Podcast
Skylar: jasmine, oolong, green and white. Long ago, these four teas were skillfully brewed at the blissful brew. Then everything changed when the shops popularity threatened its existence. All mister Okaron, the shops owner and tea master, could do was to recruit four teenage orphans to learn his trade and staff his shop. A year has passed since the orphans were hired, and although their skills have progressed, they still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything. But I believe that they have the potential to make the blissful brew the greatest tea shop in the world. Last time on benders and brews, an avatar legends podcast. You guys are on your way to the town of Zygon. You guys are all piled into the cart, and the hot leaf juice employee who told. I told you last time that his name is PI p a I, is taking you to the outskirts of the town of Zygon. At the top of this hill. You guys look down, and you see that right there?
Dave: That's the hot leaf juice factory.
Skylar: You see there's a nice line of carts. What seems to be, like, maybe farmers. They all have goods of different kinds. Probably their harvest that they're bringing to hot leaf juice to sell.
Mikayla: Where's Madame Ying's office?
Skylar: Right there. Any points you can actually see coming out of sort of like, the center of the factory itself? There's sort of, like, this glass office that kind of sticks out from the top of it. It's almost completely made of glass, because she wants to be able to see out across the campus at what's going on and also see the production floor in the factory below her.
Mikayla: We can't just, like, take Oakley's off of a tree, fill up all of our carts, and be like, hey, this is really fine. Hibiscus, tea leaves.
Cameron: Weirder things have worked.
Cameron: I've got ten you on with your name on it. With one condition. Yeah, you go to the fire nation. You never saw me.
Skylar: Okay, so you guys get in line behind the farmers. Hey, who are you? You're not supposed to be up here. You him on the head.
Cameron: I would put on his uniform. I'll start leading him towards where Madame Ying's office overlooks stuff.
Skylar: And you do not see Madam Yang ah, inside of the glass office at the moment. Inside, one of the envelopes, there is a water nation whale bone comb. So obviously, there's a piece of the map. Those of you that are actually cleaning or guarding, look down through the glass. You can see that the individual that had got the kid that got dragged into the recertification room is being brought out by two hot leaf juice leaf guards, and trailing behind them is Madam Yang yourself. Welcome back, everybody, to another episode of Benders and Brews. We are on episode eight of this exciting adventure through the world of the last airbender, and I am here with my friends who will introduce themselves and their characters.
Mikayla: Wait, we're friends?
Skylar: I assumed as much. I am, wondering if I may have been mistaken, and they will give an interesting fact about their character from my, again, friends or acquaintances. We'll see. whatever these.
Mikayla: Sometimes Minka just comes out at the worst possible moment.
Skylar: It's true. Is that your interesting character?
Mikayla: Yes.
Skylar: Wait your turn. I mean, unless you want to start. We can start with Mika.
Mikayla: No, I don't want to.
Skylar: Yeah, all right.
Cameron: She's never started.
Skylar: Yeah, that's true. Let's start with Michael.
Mikayla: I have my fun facts ready.
Skylar: Do you have one ready? I can start with Dave.
Mikayla: Thanks, Dave.
Dave: Hey, I'm playing Guohan the earthbender, and Guo's fun fact is that he's never been a part of a wedding, but he has been too many a wedding or party. sometimes he'll just go out on the weekends and wander around until he finds one. You know, he sneaks in and eats the cake. And his favorite part is when he gets to throw rice at the couple when they leave.
Skylar: Does he get aggressive with it?
Dave: Maybe a little bit.
Skylar: You always have those kids that are, like, trying to make it a violent thing, and you get to the hotel and you've got, like, rice scars across your face.
Dave: He tries to, like. Sometimes I'll try to underhand it into, like, the groom's mouth or something.
Skylar: You know, Dave, ghost fun facts always surprise me. I never expected.
Cameron: Did you just recently watch wedding crashers?
Skylar: No.
Cameron: Wonderful.
Skylar: wonderful. I love it. Mikayla.
Mikayla: Yes. I play Micah.
Skylar: That you do.
Mikayla: And Mika is a nail biter.
Skylar: A nasty habit.
Mikayla: It
Mikayla: is, but, you know, she does it, so.
Skylar: Yeah, well, it is what it is what it is. That's a pretty straightforward fact, so, yeah, we'll roll with it.
Cameron: I'm not gonna lie. My fun fact also regarded nails. I think it's only because I'm playing with nail clipper right now.
Skylar: It's a baby nail clipper. Nail.
Cameron: I was wondering why it wasn't really working.
Mikayla: It cuts less than what you actually expect it to.
Cameron: Oh, that's why I had to get my nail, like, three times.
Mikayla: Yeah, it's like, so you don't clip their skin on accident.
Cameron: Oh, that's smart.
Mikayla: Yeah.
Cameron: Anyways, yeah, I'm playing Brock Lee.
Skylar: Yeah. What's up with Brock Lee?
Cameron: Brock Lee here. Brock, as a kid, Brock is a known enjoyer of a nice, just cool, crisp glass of water that's. He's a real big water guy.
Skylar: That has nothing to do with nails.
Cameron: I know.
Cameron: Cause I didn't want to piggyback about the plot twist.
Cameron: Cause I can't. I can't double up on nail fact.
Cameron: Cool.
Mikayla: Your nail fact is gonna come next episode.
Cameron: Yeah, I gotta keep that in the bank.
Skylar: A cool glass of water.
Cameron: He's a crisp water enjoyer.
Skylar: Interesting. You know, someone, that I work with actually was just telling me the other day that apparently it's less healthy to drink cold water because your body.
Cameron: Like, tells you you don't need as much of it or something.
Skylar: Interesting.
Cameron: you're satia.
Skylar: Don't take away a small pleasure that I have when I'm not dehydrated. You know, like, I'm drinking water. If it's cold, I'm gonna still drink. Like, I don't, that's just me. I don't know what it is. All right, well, interesting. hopefully Brock can get ahold of a nice, cool, crisp glass water.
Cameron: Some high quality h two o.
Skylar: That's right. You gotta get the h two o. All right, fantastic. Last but not least, we've got Cameron. Hello. I don't know why I said it like that.
Cameron: I don't know either.
Skylar: That's okay. All right. What's, who, who are you?
Cameron: I'm Cameron. I play Bildor. Fun fact, I feel like this will go great with the fact I've minorly fighting a head cold right now.
Skylar: Oh, okay.
Cameron: But Bill, is notorious for, getting sick.
Mikayla: Ah.
Skylar: he's got a bad, system.
Cameron: Yeah, you're raised.
Mikayla: Except all of three seasons, he's not been sick once, so maybe he's on the mend.
Cameron: Oh, well, the thing is, our whole seasons have taken place within like a two week time span.
Skylar: So, you know, it kind of feels. Here's my question. Here's my question is, Bill was, has he always, like all his life, been prone to being more sick? Or has it been since he moved to a whole different region?
Cameron: Oh, he, would get occasionally sick, but yeah, probably the new region probably has played a major factor. All that new pollen.
Skylar: I feel like that would make a lot of sense. It's like a whole.
Cameron: Maybe doesn't get sick, maybe just has really bad allergies.
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: Earth nation that would be probably contracted.
Cameron: Scurvy on your one whole.
Skylar: No, don't you remember?
Cameron: Oranges are his favorite thing, and he helped the pirates not get scurvy.
Skylar: He was aware he was the solicitor.
Cameron: Someone isn't an avid listener.
Skylar: Ah, shame on you, Connor. Every road trip is supposed to be a, ah, benders and brews road trip.
Cameron: Yeah. Ah, that's great, Connor.
Skylar: my name is Skylar. I'm the game master. And interesting fact about me is that as much as I just complained about the idea of not drinking cold water, I'm sitting here with a bottle of dasani that is at room temperature, and it is a bit disappointing. It's not cold.
Cameron: I think it's just because it's Dasani.
Skylar: That's. I was just gonna say it's definitely not my favorite bottled, water. For sure.
Cameron: It's Aquafina pepsi product.
Skylar: It must be.
Cameron: Dave is Aquafina Pepsi product. Yeah, there it is.
Skylar: There it is. Awesome. And with that fact out of the way, we will move into the 8th episode of Bitters of Brews, season three. All right, last we left off, you guys, or at least three of the four of you. One of you was adamantly filling a cart with Lee.
Cameron: Yeah.
Skylar: Intimidating. Well, I'll let you describe how adamantly or, lackingly you have been filling a cart.
Cameron: He has never put more passion into anything else in his environment.
Skylar: He's gone so far of putting. Oh, wait. You were moving leaves from a car into boxes.
Cameron: Yes, but he is, like, laying them down so meticulously, like, he's got to get the leaves facing the right way. It's a whole process. He is going to be there one at a time.
Skylar: Wow.
Cameron: Wow.
Skylar: Amazing. And equally amazing is the fact that, the other three of you all disguised as hot leaf juice employees, one of you, specifically, Bill, disguised as a hot leaf juice elite employee, are inside of Madam Yang's glass office. You've got the clue that Mister Okaron left behind for you back at the air temple that Madam Yang had stolen. And now she
Skylar: has just appeared in the floor below you on the factory floor out of the quote unquote recertify employee recertification room. And she seems like she might be headed up to her office. What are you guys doing?
Mikayla: I'm gonna punch her.
Cameron: Is there a back way?
Skylar: Nope. There's one stairway.
Mikayla: There's one staircase.
Cameron: I'm reiterating for the new episode.
Skylar: Geez, that's fair.
Dave: Are there windows in here?
Skylar: Well, the whole thing's a window.
Cameron: Hey, easy.
Mikayla: It's a glass office. Remember?
Cameron: Glass onion?
Mikayla: We could all sit on the rug, and she would never know we were.
Cameron: There until she opens the door.
Skylar: I was gonna say, like, you guys.
Dave: Aren'T dressed, like, are there osha approved emergency escape windows?
Cameron: Yeah, it's true.
Skylar: okay.
Dave: Or just windows you can open in.
Skylar: General, I would say there are windows on either side that look out across the campus.
Mikayla: That look. Or that open?
Skylar: Yeah, they open.
Cameron: Oh, yeah. In case you.
Mikayla: Is there a closet?
Cameron: A light breeze?
Skylar: No, there's no closet.
Mikayla: Well, what is this lady? What if she spills on her shirt or something?
Skylar: she's got a nearby office. Restroom.
Cameron: This is a long.
Skylar: But it's not in the office itself. It's in, like, outside. She have to go down the stairs. But there's a madden room I really.
Mikayla: Want us to run into mad.
Cameron: And restroom is there.
Mikayla: I'm a walk down the stairs.
Cameron: I still have that rope. Yeah, I do.
Skylar: Yeah, you. Yeah, you said you got it. You explicitly wanted.
Mikayla: No, but he said he tied up the guy.
Cameron: Yeah. did you? Yeah.
Mikayla: Oh, so he doesn't have it. Unless he cut.
Skylar: I thought you just knocked him out or something.
Mikayla: But he did. But I'm pretty sure he tied him up and then stole his clothes.
Skylar: Oh, well, then, yeah. You up at that point?
Mikayla: BDSM. anyway.
Skylar: Whoa.
Cameron: You said it. Okay.
Mikayla: No,
Cameron: I got it. What? We gotta get out of here.
Mikayla: Oh, wait, I don't see her, though, do I? Can I see her? I think my position on the rug.
Skylar: I think at the very least, Bill Dore sees and notifies you guys.
Cameron: Hey, PI yoon.
Dave: What? you're you not gonna.
Cameron: Yeah, sorry. she's coming.
Dave: Who's she?
Cameron: Madam Yang.
Mikayla: I look down.
Dave: Oh, boy.
Mikayla: I shoved the letters in my pocket. I saw it go for the door, Kirk.
Cameron: Hey, can I get my pouch back?
Mikayla: What pouch?
Cameron: The one I gave you.
Mikayla: I'm literally walking away from you.
Cameron: Well, give my pouch. My pouch.
Mikayla: I don't know what you're talking about.
Cameron: Pouch I gave you. Okay, we can figure this out later. I open the door, I'm gonna guide you guys down. Just hide your faces.
Mikayla: Absolutely not. I'm going after this girl.
Skylar: What?
Dave: No, below us.
Skylar: Yeah, so.
Cameron: No, not here.
Skylar: Directly below the office.
Cameron: I'm not saving you.
Skylar: Directly below the office is. I mean, it's just a glass floor, with sort of, like, some wood, you know, crisscross to make sure that everything doesn't just, like, bottom out with the glass. but anyways, so directly below you is just the floor to the factory. So, like, there's, like, a ten to 15 foot drop. Then you'd be at the floor factory where everybody's got, like, the machines and they're making t blocks and all this other stuff. So she's coming out of a room that's kind of off to the side, coming down the factory floor. And she looks like she's headed back up to her office, where there's, like, there's obviously stairs that lead up to.
Cameron: From the factory.
Mikayla: I'm going towards her.
Skylar: Okay. You're going towards the door of the office towards the stairs.
Dave: I'm going to pull out a rock and throw it at one of the workers.
Cameron: Which worker?
Skylar: I don't know.
Dave: One close to Madame Yang.
Mikayla: she recertified.
Skylar: Obviously. Oh, yeah. Bring a person. They're bringing a person out of the recertification room. Yeah, yeah. That they. That they recertified. Yeah. So, yeah, they're, like, sending him back, to. Yeah, his position. So you're gonna throw. Okay. Yeah, do that. I love it.
Mikayla: rely on your skills.
Skylar: Rely on your skills. Yeah. Thank you. Rely on your skills and training.
Mikayla: Yeah, I'm trying my go at the GM here.
Skylar: Yeah. Thanks. We'll get you on running a series.
Mikayla: Absolutely not.
Cameron: Aw.
Skylar: So it's with focus on, you know.
Mikayla: If the fans want it, maybe.
Skylar: Yeah.
Dave: focus on it.
Skylar: Ooh, ooh.
Dave: That's a three.
Cameron: All right.
Skylar: So with a reliance on your skills and training. If you miss, you hit Madame Yang instead.
Cameron: You act like that's a problem.
Mikayla: It would just be more funny.
Cameron: It would be funny.
Skylar: I mean, yeah, you just. It just says. I mean, it doesn't even have any. It's not like you can save the situation or anything. It's just bad. you toss this rock.
Mikayla: Wait, wait, wait. This pebble, he just tosses it, and it just kind of does, like, a little, like,
Mikayla: goes two inches.
Skylar: It just plops down.
Dave: I just ate popcorn.
Cameron: It's the longest yard record.
Dave: Yeah.
Skylar: All right. pebble didn't work. What are you doing?
Cameron: Let's, get out of here.
Skylar: All right.
Cameron: And I'm starting to walk them down the stairs.
Mikayla: I just think Artie was going a long time ago. I wasn't waiting for.
Skylar: So you're just leading the path.
Cameron: Yeah. She's running down the stairs.
Mikayla: I'm, not necessarily running, but I'm not being slow about it. Not dawadling.
Skylar: Okay, where do we go?
Dave: Where do we go?
Cameron: Yeah, let's go find Troy and the cart.
Dave: Is there, like, a side passage we can go off into?
Skylar: Or once you go down the stairs, the door that's at the back of the factory is dead ahead of you.
Cameron: So we have to go. Walk past.
Mikayla: I want to go.
Skylar: And from what would be the east side of the building, I want to.
Mikayla: Go in the direction of madam.
Cameron: No, I I'm grabbing her and moving her the other way.
Mikayla: I'm too quick and tiny.
Skylar: You could call her out.
Cameron: To do what?
Skylar: To live up to their principles.
Cameron: Which principle? I don't know her principles.
Skylar: What are your principles? Friends and survival.
Cameron: Oh, well, yeah. well, I feel like both principles apply here. Actually, neither of them are what you're doing currently.
Mikayla: Just because I'm going the direction of Madame Yang isn't gonna be like, oh.
Cameron: Hey, madame Yang, look at me.
Mikayla: I'm Mika. you're. That's not what I'm gonna do.
Skylar: Oh, this is interesting. Okay, so you are going to shift your balance away from. If you're gonna call him out. Are you calling her?
Cameron: I'm shifting mine.
Skylar: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I can say more. It doesn't matter. It's away from center. And then you name and roll with their principal. So whatever her principal is currently, well, you're picking. And then you're gonna kind of try.
Cameron: To figure out which one's closest. It feels like probably survive. Survival makes the most sense. Cause we're in a survive mode right now, and going towards her is the opposite of surviving.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: She hasn't tried to kill us. She's just trying to talk to us about her plan.
Cameron: Yeah, no, that's not.
Mikayla: So wouldn't it really be survival? I feel like you're thinking more.
Cameron: Mine's definitely self reliance. I'm moving towards self reliance versus trust because I'm not. Clearly, I'm not trusting her.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: So I'm doing self reliance.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: And then I'm doing.
Skylar: Because it's. It's your idea to not engage with.
Cameron: Correct. And I'm not trusting whatever plan she's currently got. And I'm asking her to go to survival, which is get out of. Let's get out of here as fast as weekend.
Mikayla: Okay, so m. I'm, already at the end of my survival.
Skylar: So you're at what? Plus three?
Mikayla: Yep.
Cameron: So I'm rolling a plus three.
Skylar: So you're rolling plus three.
Cameron: Eight.
Skylar: Okay. So on a seven and nine, they challenge your view of the world in turn. So, mark of fatigue. Or they shift your balance as they choose.
Cameron: And then what happens?
Skylar: But she is called to act as you say. They can either do it or mark a condition.
Cameron: Oh, so do both happen?
Skylar: Yes.
Cameron: Okay. So she chooses for me first. So do you want me to take a fatigue or shift my balance more? And after you do that, then you have a choice.
Skylar: And you also. I mean, we got to obviously play it out. So, like, you're saying something to get her to listen to you, that you guys obviously need to leave, and then you're challenging his and shifting his balance in one of two directions, which yours were self reliance. And what was the other one?
Cameron: Trust.
Skylar: Trust. So you're like, okay, fine, but. And then you're pitching kind of a concept to challenge his worldview.
Mikayla: So, he told me to come back to him.
Skylar: Yeah.
Mikayla: And I agree because he rolled an.
Skylar: You would, like, reluctantly agree, but you would say something in addition.
Cameron: She said she doesn't have to agree.
Skylar: Right. Well, it says she has to act as you say or. Or mark a condition. That's true. Yeah. You can mark a condition if you wanted to.
Cameron: I get a negative effect first. So do you want me to gain a fatigue or. Sorry, which balance do you want me to show? Self reliance or trust or.
Skylar: Or you mark the fatigue, right?
Cameron: Yeah, sure.
Skylar: Yeah. It's.
Cameron: Or just choose one.
Skylar: So you're gonna move fatigue or you're gonna move his balance?
Mikayla: Well, I want him to trust. Move towards trust because I trust.
Skylar: Right.
Mikayla: Yeah. He has self reliance or trust. I have friendship or survival.
Cameron: So you want me to trust you?
Mikayla: I want you to trust me because I feel like we need to figure out Madame Yang's plan.
Cameron: Okay. So I'm moving towards trust you. Now, mark a condition. If you want to follow through with your plan, or you can do it. You listen to me.
Skylar: Wants you to do.
Cameron: It's very interesting how that works.
Skylar: It's kind of complicated, and it's something that we haven't done a lot of, which kind of makes it kind of tricky, because I feel like it's really interesting and it's really kind of cool and how you can kind of affect other characters, other player characters and how they're doing things. But obviously, there's a cost to it.
Mikayla: I'm going to become English.
Skylar: Oh, okay. So you call out Mika, huh? Like. Like, do it.
Cameron: I wanted us to establish what's happening so I can play out this scene.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: So I don't know what's exciting.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: Okay. Okay.
Cameron: Now.
Skylar: So what's happening? Cause she just took a condition instead of listening to you.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: So you're trying to get her to do what you want her to do.
Mikayla: which is not. Go towards my eyes.
Skylar: Which is not. Yeah, exactly. And she's ignoring you. She's angry. So you're gonna respond in that sense. And I'm not doing it.
Cameron: I'm gonna trust her. Okay. Got it. Okay, so we're heading down the stairs.
Skylar: Yes.
Cameron: And we're getting near the bottom of the stairs. And Guo Han's right by my side. Right. And he's a little, like, a little upset because he's rock thing. I'm, like, kind of, like, patting him on the shoulder, like, you'll get him next time. Guo and I look over and I say, mikko, very quickly heading towards Madame Yang. And I imagine Bill, like, takes out his bo staff, and he sticks it in front of her to, like, slow her down, and he goes, whoa. Hey, we gotta get out of here now.
Mikayla: I'm gonna shove it out of the way and say, you don't understand. Madame Yang has been here this whole time. She's constantly trying to attack us. We need to figure out what's going on in what her plan is.
Cameron: Her plan is to take the blissful brew from us. And if we get captured by her, who's to say she doesn't toss us in that room?
Mikayla: Who's to say we're gonna get caught by her?
Cameron: All, Right. I'm gonna lower my. Both staff.
Mikayla: I'm not saying we have to run in there blindly, but we can, you know, sneakily watch her for a little while before we leave.
Cameron: Right here. Where are we watching from?
Mikayla: Just, like, following her in a way, is you have your elite suit on. She's walking. She's not gonna recognize you. We'll just single file, watch.
Cameron: Recognize you two.
Mikayla: It'll be fine.
Dave: Okay.
Mikayla: There's walls and corners, and she's. She's not paying attention to us anyway.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: All right. So I'm gonna say that she. I mean, she is moving in your direction. So for you and Guo, who are not. I almost mix Guo and Han at the same time. You and Guo, who are both not disguised. What are you guys doing to ensure that she doesn't just see you? And that would ruin everything, obviously.
Mikayla: Cause she's coming to her office with this person or just with herself.
Skylar: No, just herself. She has. I would say that the two elites are taking the person back over to their specific spot where they were working, and then she's headed towards the stairs back up to her office herself.
Mikayla: Okay, so she's coming towards us.
Skylar: Yep.
Mikayla: Mister Elite man, can, I don't know, stand guard on the corner.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: Quote unquote.
Skylar: Sure.
Mikayla: Brock can face his way.
Skylar: Well, Brock's side here. Yeah, Brock's side.
Mikayla: I thought he was at the cart that bought.
Cameron: Yeah.
Skylar: Which is outside. I am outside the door.
Cameron: I am so good at counting these leaves.
Skylar: You guys are still inside the factory.
Dave: Maybe we should just.
Mikayla: Oh, he's not. I thought for some reason, I thought he was just there in the factory.
Skylar: No, he's out back, kind of by the warehouse.
Cameron: I'm counting so many leaves right now.
Skylar: It's true.
Cameron: They're gonna be so impressed.
Mikayla: Right. Okay, so then it's just a hallway.
Skylar: No, no, it's not even a hallway. It's a big, open factory.
Mikayla: So we're in the big, open factory at the bottom of the staircase.
Skylar: Yeah.
Mikayla: So we can hide under the staircase, and he can just. Oh, essentially. Right.
Skylar: In theory, you could, I'm gonna have you guys do push a lot, which is with passion.
Dave: All right, Guo's gonna get down under the stairs, and he's also gonna pull out the cleaning rag. And just in case somebody does happen to look, he can pretend to be clean.
Skylar: Okay. The bottom. Hey, you know, these stairs go, undusted for quite a long time.
Mikayla: I got an eight.
Dave: I got a seven.
Skylar: Oh, wow.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: Well, that's still a soft hit. All right, so the two of you basically dive underneath the stairs as you come. Like, down the stairs.
Cameron: Man, you must m really saw a bad spot.
Skylar: You hop the railing really quick, and then you kind of duck under these stairs just as Madame Yang starts walking past. No, you're good.
Dave: Oh, my allergies. All this dust.
Skylar: as you guys come around, you bump into somebody carrying a basket, and they spill their tea leaves all over the floor, and it starts to kind of draw some employee attention. And Madam Yang
Skylar: starts to kind of glance over, like she might check to see what's going on.
Mikayla: I'll help him pick up his leaves.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: With my back. Turns towards her. I mean, I don't think I do anything, but.
Skylar: Well, all right. Sounds good. What are you doing, Bill?
Cameron: I'm gonna walk over and, like, kind of like walk between myself and madame Yang and, like, look at the group of them and go and be like, hey, pick those leaves up. We don't want no sloppy accidents here on duty.
Skylar: All right? And then since you are, you are dressed like this, and then this is kind of like you trying to, trying to get her to not notice. I'm gonna have you do a trick so it's with creativity.
Cameron: Yeah.
Cameron: Six.
Skylar: Six what?
Cameron: I have a negative.
Skylar: but you could take a fatigue to roll with your balance if you'd like.
Cameron: Zero.
Skylar: Didn't she? Oh, yeah.
Mikayla: She didn't. She went towards self reliance. I push it back towards stress.
Skylar: Gotcha. You're right, you're right. Okay, so a six. Well, I mean, basically, yeah. You fail to trick them.
Skylar: So she starts to approach, and she says, you two pick up those. Wait a minute.
Mikayla: Those aren't hot leaf juice uniforms.
Skylar: Who are you? And you've got your back, like, turned to her.
Mikayla: Is there water around?
Skylar: Yes, there's boiling water.
Cameron: They still open the room.
Mikayla: I never had a buggy because I was reading letters.
Cameron: You had a bucket. You just immediately.
Mikayla: Okay.
Skylar: Using it. Yeah.
Dave: Why would have left it up in the room?
Mikayla: So there is no water.
Skylar: There's no water immediately around you. I'd say maybe like, 10ft away. There's the boiling water from the vats where they're boiling the tea leaves.
Cameron: 10Ft away.
Skylar: Yeah, about 10ft away.
Cameron: It's right next to it.
Skylar: It's not far. So those are in the back of the facility.
Mikayla: So I literally can, as I turn around, I can just water bend, motion it.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: Swing the water in front of her face and then run.
Skylar: You could? Yeah, yeah, you could. Absolutely.
Mikayla: I mean, it doesn't have to be in front of her.
Skylar: Yeah. Do a rely on your skills and training on that one.
Mikayla: Yeah, it's a six.
Skylar: Unless you want to roll with balance.
Mikayla: I can mark a fatigue and add plus three.
Skylar: Yeah.
Mikayla: For survival.
Skylar: Yep.
Mikayla: Okay, I'll do that. Okay, so that'd be nine.
Skylar: Okay. So, you do it imperfectly. So, okay, so here's your situation. You look over, you see those vats of boiling water, and you're like, oh, I'm gonna fling it at Madame Yang. I feel confident enough in my ability that I can throw hot, steaming water into Madame Yang's face and we can get an escape. But then you remember that bill in his hot leaf juice elite costume is right next to her. Oh, shoot.
Mikayla: What the heck?
Skylar: You can accept those consequences, or you can take an additional fatigue in order to kind of dodge Bill. Taking water.
Dave: What's another scar? Right, Bill?
Cameron: Yeah, I know.
Skylar: So you either can hurt Bill.
Cameron: Let's just throw this hot water at the burn. Victor.
Mikayla: I don't know anything about your story. I don't really want to hurt Bill, though.
Skylar: You can take a fatigue to basically do it without those consequences happen. Okay. So if you take that last fatigue.
Mikayla: And they did already take it.
Cameron: Double fatigue.
Skylar: What?
Mikayla: She already took a fatigue to get to a nine.
Skylar: Well, that was to roll with her balance. I think you can still do this. To, take taken. You can still do this and take an extra fatigue to get rid of the. The negative. Basically do it. I can take it back. A fatigue. But here's the thing. Here's the thing. From now on, if you were to take a fatigue for whatever, if you got attacked or anything, you have to start taking conditions, and then the second you run out of conditions, you're out.
Mikayla: Well, I really don't want to hurt.
Cameron: Do it.
Skylar: That's.
Cameron: I can take it.
Mikayla: Bill hasn't done anything to me. For me to.
Cameron: Well, it is an accident.
Mikayla: Well, I understand.
Skylar: but I guess the question in Micah's mind is I could use a little bit more oomph. in my abilities and my power, I can push myself a little bit harder. Which is why you're taking fatigue. That's why they call it fatigue. It's not damage. It's not health points. As far as yourself, I could do that and ensure that my friend doesn't get hurt.
Mikayla: But I'm also. If we're playing with where my balance is, my balance is further away from friendship. I'm.
Skylar: Oh, that's who you are.
Mikayla: Mainly focus on survival. So I think going off of that, I probably would just talk it.
Cameron: Yep.
Mikayla: And just hope for the best. Like.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: Makes sense.
Skylar: All right. All right.

Cameron: No, because you're more prioritizing getting away than who you throw it at, basically.
Skylar: And I think there's also that underlying desire to get Madam Yang that you've been showcasing for the last, like, four episodes.
Cameron: You got tunnel vision. You just saw madam.
Mikayla: She just makes me so mad.
Skylar: Here's an opportunity to not only, like, distract her and get away. But I can even hurt Madam Yang. I'm gonna take it. Okay. I like that. I think that makes a lot of sense, narratively speaking. So you reach out with your waterbending power, and using one of your forms, you fling some hot boiling water in the direction of Madame Ying, accidentally, spraying Bill. Bill, I need you to take a condition.
Cameron: Yeah, I'm sorry. Oh. Yep. I immediately know which one I'm taking. Afraid.
Skylar: Afraid, yes. That's. Oh, that makes so much sense. The hot, scalding water splashes, droplets onto your skin, and you suddenly have sort of a, PTSD. You recall the kind of PTSD? Yeah. You recall a situation from your early childhood involving the. Involving heat.
Cameron: My nightmare.
Skylar: Exactly. And it brings that nightmare back to you as you kind of have a quick flash of being inside of a burning, like, shed or, barn. I guess it was a barn. and just feeling those flames licking at your skin and scalding you.
Cameron: So as Bill gets hit by this, he's gonna yell out in pain.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: And fall to his knees.
Skylar: What? Okay.
Cameron: you do that holding his shoulder.
Skylar: And madame Yang also is kind of doing that. She got a big old spray straight to the face. She wears, like, fairly thick robes, but her face was not protected, nor was it expecting the situation. So she's clutching at her face, screaming.
Mikayla: It, buzz it, but.
Skylar: And, she also falls to the ground. I think at this point, you guys have caused enough of a stir to get a lot of people's attentions. a couple of hot leaf juice elites, the ones that were hauling the kid back to his spot to work. they probably are noticing, and they're probably gonna start moving in this direction. What are you guys doing? Bill is kind of freaking out. He's having a moment.
Mikayla: So I saw this.
Skylar: Correct?
Mikayla: As I turned around and flinging the water. How far away is guo?
Skylar: He's probably right. I think both of you are probably within about five ish feet.
Mikayla: since I've already turned around, I'm gonna reach out for Bill.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: I mean, I don't know if he'll accept my help since I just burned him, but. And then I'm just gonna grab him and try to run towards where we were told the exit was okay.
Skylar: Sounds good, I would say. I'm gonna have you roll comfort and support. So you're gonna roll with harmony.
Mikayla: Comfort and support. You mean guiding comfort?
Cameron: Yep.
Mikayla: Okay, well, I have a negative to that since I'm angry, so,
Skylar: Oh, yes. I didn't even think about that. But, hey, that's how this kind of works out sometimes. I mean, all things considered, first glow.
Mikayla: When I did it, what did you say that was with. Sorry.
Skylar: harmony.
Mikayla: Harmony.
Skylar: Yep.
Mikayla: Okay. Okay. Well, I got a two.
Skylar: A two. Okay. I think.
Cameron: Yeah, you just failed.
Skylar: Yeah. He, So you reach out to try to, like, get Bill up or whatever, and he does not seem like he's willing. He's freaking out. I mean, he's. He probably even pulls away from you, especially because you were kind of the person that did it. He kind of pulls away from you. And I know I'm kind of speaking for you, but I just assume that's kind of what that would look like.
Cameron: Sure.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: Kind of. Yeah. I flinch away from it because she kind of, like, reached out and touched the. Oh, the burn, the fresh wound. And Bill looks up at her, and he's got tears streaming down his eyes right now. And he kind of, like, smacks her hand out of the way.
Mikayla: And I'm just gonna say, we have to go, and I'm just gonna run.
Skylar: Okay.
Mikayla: I'm thinking survival. Okay. That's where I'm at.
Skylar: All right. You start to bolt towards that back door. Guo, what are you doing?
Dave: Guo rolls
Dave: out from underneath the stairs, reaches into his pouch and says, eat dirt, blockheads. And he earthbends a scattershot of pebbles towards the guards.
Skylar: Nice.
Dave: Coming towards us.
Skylar: All right, sounds good. I'm gonna do rely, on your skills in training, which is with focus.
Dave: Seven.
Skylar: Seven. Okay. So this is another one of those situations where you can do it and accept the consequences. Or, taking a fatigue to, focus a little bit more. So, basically, as you pull this dirt out from or maybe a handful of pebbles, whatever the case, you earth bend them out of your little pouch that you're so used to having. And you get ready to fling them. And you notice all the workers, these kids that are all standing around. I mean, it's a pretty full factory. And it's gonna be really tough to aim around these kids and hit just the elite. So you can choose to do so, you can choose to fire it as is, and you're probably gonna hit some kids, or you can choose to take the fatigue, and then you can focus your powers a little bit more specifically and manage to hit just the elite members.
Dave: Grove's just gonna go for it, you know?
Skylar: Okay, sounds good. So you just hurl this mess of.
Dave: Stones like a bunch of grains of rice full circle.
Skylar: And they go flying towards the, elite members. striking them, yes. But also striking some of the kids. Interesting, opportunity arises, because as these kids get hit with these rocks in pain, they start to reach down. And then all of a sudden, they start to kind of look wildly around them, and you hear people screaming out, where am I? Where am I?
Dave: Who are all these people?
Skylar: What is this place? And they start panicking, causing. Opening up a little. I know this is technically not what you're supposed to do when you technically don't roll the extra opportunity, but it is narratively part of the situation. So, these kids seem to have been awoken from whatever was kind of hypnotizing them and holding them here against their will. What are you doing? Now that you've kind of created this distraction, and a big distraction at that.
Dave: just gonna follow Mika. She. Well, actually, no, she's. She's helping.
Skylar: She's headed out this door.
Mikayla: She pulled away from me, and I said, dude, we gotta go. And I start running, because I'm thinking in order to survive, we have to leave.
Skylar: Right?
Dave: I'll be like, Bill. Bill. Ash, we gotta go.
Skylar: Oh, he's using the real name. Oh, my gosh. okay. I'm gonna have you also do a comforter support.
Mikayla: Ash. Catch.
Cameron: Does he get an advantage or anything for that?
Skylar: Ah, sure. I'll give you a plus one. Oh, you don't need it.
Dave: What is that? Comfort.
Skylar: Harmony, you got a ridiculously high roll.
Dave: Eleven.
Skylar: An eleven. Goodness. Okay, so on a hit, they decide if they want to open up to you. If they don't, they can mark a condition and take plus one forward against them. or if they do. And this is kind of in situations where you might be in, like, an actual physical altercation with a friend.
Cameron: Yeah, ten plus. You can actually. I will listen what you say. And you also can shift my balance one direction if you want.
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: Mine are self reliance and trust. So, it feels a little obvious which one I'm doing here.
Dave: I'm gonna go actually shift you towards rely on your skills. I'm gonna be like, we gotta go. Come on. You're. You're the strongest guy I know. Good thing Brock's not.
Cameron: Brock sheds single tear.
Skylar: Yeah. From a distance, Brock as he's putting.
Cameron: A leaf, as he's holding not one, but two leaves at once. Feeling, rather full of him.
Mikayla: How about spit out my water?
Skylar: So, just to clarify for anybody listening, I just wanted to say that my cheat sheet that I printed said comfort and support. But, yeah, I don't know if this is like, an early version or something, because guidance, comfort is very much. Yeah, the official one. So, okay, so, they embrace your guidance. You get to, Bill, you get to clear a condition or to fatigue. And then, because he got a ten plus, he also shifted your balance.
Cameron: And I'm no longer afraid.
Skylar: Awesome. Well, that. Hey, that makes so much sense. as for the part where it says that you, guo, get to ask him a question, I think maybe that'll come a little bit later. I don't think you would. As you're rushing out of the factory.
Cameron: They must answer honestly.
Skylar: Do, be thinking about that, because, he will, thanks to your help. and kind of this. This relationship that you're developing between each other, he's gonna. He's gonna offer up some information about himself later, so I'm gonna set that aside for now. As you guys are rushing out of the factory, right outside Brock, you see him, neatly.
Cameron: Do I get to do something before I leave?
Skylar: Oh, sure, yeah. If there's something you wanted to do.
Cameron: Well, before I go is, do I know madam Yanks a firebender?
Skylar: I think, you didn't see her do fire bender.
Cameron: What's it Brock told us on our trip?
Skylar: Brock, which. Yeah, you guys had a lot of time do. You would have mentioned to the group.
Cameron: And we, like, flash back to the cart. Hey, by the way, guys, madam Yang's a firebender.
Cameron: I mean, I feel like Brock would tell us that. Like, he'd be bragging, like, oh, yeah, I fought a fire better. Yeah, she definitely, firebender. go away from me. fire boosters.
Dave: Did you not use any firebending in the tea party?
Cameron: I don't think so.
Skylar: I don't think so.
Mikayla: I didn't.
Skylar: She didn't really do any fighting.
Cameron: Okay, Brock, just catch.
Skylar: The first time we saw her, he's.
Cameron: Firebending was with Brock's fight, right? yeah, that's when he revealed she was a firebender.
Skylar: Yes, but I think that. Absolutely. I think Brock, like I said, you guys would have had a few hours at the. To get to the factory in the first place. I think it would have gotten mentioned either by Brock or maybe even by the hot leaf juice employee. Like, maybe that was. But whatever the case, I think. Sure, I think would have. Maybe not.
Cameron: So, Bill, he hears his name, and he, like, wipes the. He wipes the tears off his face, and he, like, grabs his bo staff that he was holding, and he, like, uses it as a support to stand.
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: And then he turns, like, looks over his shoulder, looks at Madame Yang, and is she still, like, trying to get the water out of her face and stuff? Yeah, she's just, He just yells, screw you, firebender, and he's gonna just take a crack at the side of her head with a.
Skylar: Little sad and run off.
Cameron: You hear the crowds, behind you.
Cameron: Do I get a bonus with her being blinded or whatever?
Skylar: yeah, I would say that she's stunned or something. Yeah, but she kind of would have.
Cameron: Been alerted by your voice as to where the blows coming from.
Cameron: She doesn't know what I'm doing, though. That's fair. That's fair call.
Skylar: yeah, I would say she's stunned. I don't know if you'd get a bonus, but she is basically disabled at the moment, and, I mean, you're addedly disabled.
Cameron: Well, I've asked because I rolled.
Skylar: You would get a plus one. yeah. For, like, what, empower? Well, no, not empowered.
Mikayla: Or would she be impaired? Which one?
Skylar: It's basically, it's just like, you're prepared is what you're. Okay.
Cameron: It's. Or you could say Mika helped me out coincidentally.
Skylar: Sure.
Mikayla: Sure.
Cameron: Which is a plus one. Anyways. I got a ten.
Skylar: Nice. Okay, wait. I mean, straightforward. what were we doing? Rely on your skills and training, probably. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Cameron: Wham.
Skylar: You just come down and just. Absolutely just lay into it, right across the head crack. You hear, and she goes down. she kind of catches herself, but you can kind of see her head is just, like, wobbling. She's got one hand over her face, which is, you know, obviously got burns. she's wobbling from, like, just the dizziness of the impact. Probably has a concussion at this point. And then you go sprinting out the door.
Cameron: Yep. Chasing after everyone.
Skylar: Bam. And then you run out of there. She is has no ability right now to chase after you guys by any means. the elites were distracted thanks to Guo's, pebble attack. Even if they do, manage to kind of put themselves together, they're gonna have a heck of a thing trying to help Madam Yang or stopping the kids that are freaking out, running around, which is causing more kids to freak out and run around at this point. kind of spreading pneumonia. Exactly. Helter skelter. And you guys go running out the door, meeting up with Brock, who's outside. All right, Brock, you're finally in the scene, guys.
Cameron: I've been counting these leaves.
Cameron: He sees those deaths sprinting up.
Skylar: 364.
Cameron: Well, I see I got 364 dark green ones, and then, like, 116 light green.
Mikayla: Dude, you can tell us all about it later, but we have to get out of here.
Cameron: Why?
Cameron: What's up? What happened?
Mikayla: stuff hit the fan.
Cameron: Okay. I mean, but what about the rest of the leaves?
Mikayla: Somebody else will count them. Okay, we literally gotta get out of here.
Cameron: Okay, cool, cool, cool.
Skylar: All right, so you guys start rushing towards, I assume, the back entrance kind of exit.
Cameron: Closest?
Skylar: Oh, yeah, this is definitely the closest. So, here's my question to you guys.
Cameron: Towards the exit where I took the guard out.
Skylar: Well, that was the front. Yeah. There's gonna be one guard tower in the back, but, yeah, you guys. So I'm assuming you're sprinting towards the back. So there's two options. You can go around the warehouse, or you can go through the warehouse. But you can see through the doors of the warehouse. Both doors are open. The door at the front of the warehouse and the door at the end of the warehouse. Cause people are constantly, like, bringing stuff in. There's not a lot of employees in here. They're all just regular employees. They've got either a hand cart and they're bringing it in, or taking boxes off hand carts and putting them on, like, big shelves that come.
Cameron: So that's the direct route.
Skylar: Yeah. Or you can go around the warehouse if you want.
Cameron: There's no, like, alarms going off right now, are there?
Skylar: No.
Cameron: So why didn't we just take the cart and then just nonchalantly leave and get paid on the way out?
Skylar: Well, you haven't been fully unloaded. You're still counting.
Cameron: Oh, yeah.
Cameron: And you're right. So we gotta just all go back. We can all
Cameron: count the leaves.
Mikayla: Absolutely not.
Cameron: Or we just dump all the stuff from the cart and then just get back in line. Nonchalantly leave, take some money on the way out. Just saying.
Cameron: Like I'm saying, let's just get out of here.
Mikayla: Yeah, yeah.
Cameron: But I mean, what a way to draw less attention, I would think. At least.
Skylar: I mean, just cause the alarms haven't been proverbially set off yet doesn't mean it won't take long. Been made.
Cameron: You've been made.
Mikayla: I literally threw boiling hot water in Madame Yang's face. She's not gonna be super happy. We, need to get out.
Cameron: But what better way. It's like a double screw you is to, like, take more of her money.
Cameron: Oh, yeah. That'll really show her. Let's get out.
Skylar: clarify, as you guys are having this discussion amongst yourselves, are you doing so good. Going through the warehouse or around the warehouse.
Cameron: I mean, might as well just. Which would draw less attention.
Skylar: Honestly. I mean, actually, is this a role? This would be an assess the situation kind of a situation. Brock is. Brock is honestly the most, like, calm.
Cameron: Yeah. He's been out here a while.
Cameron: I've been counting so many leaves.
Skylar: Guys. He's been assistant. Assessing the situation.
Cameron: He has. That's all he's been doing.
Skylar: Creativity. Nine.
Cameron: Okay, there you go.
Skylar: You get to ask me one of the questions on the table.
Cameron: What is going to,
Skylar: On the table, probably what is the. Either the biggest threat, what should be on the lookout for?
Cameron: What's the best way out of the factory?
Skylar: out of the factory, the whole campus.
Cameron: Out of the campus, yes.
Skylar: So, I'm gonna say that you notice an aspect here. You're thinking through the situation. You saw from a distance, the factory setting, the kid. Give you a little bit of a rundown. You remember seeing the watchtower. You remember seeing the fact that there's the, back exit, and there were two hot leaf juice elites that were over there, and then, of course, one up in the watchtower. Now, you know that if you go around, and this isn't me pushing for anything particular, but I'm just saying that if you go around the warehouse, the warehouse is, like, literally covered. Like, it's like a roofed warehouse. So if you go through the warehouse, the guy in the watchtower is a lot less likely to see. See you. Until you're basically at the exit going around the warehouse, they'll be able to see you, running. That's probably going to catch their attention. On the other hand, there's the fact that you're going to have to try to get through this exit where there's two hot leaf juice employees standing there.
Mikayla: So it sounds like you're saying the best way.
Cameron: We're going to have to pass these two no matter what.
Skylar: unless. Oh,
Cameron: Man. Unless. If you. Stealth.
Skylar: Unless you wanted to run all the way across the harvesting area, where that broken down chunk offenses. But there's also the. The watchtower there as well. Yeah, but it is quite a ways, so it would take more time.
Mikayla: You said the best way is basically to go around.
Skylar: Well, no, through the warehouse. You won't get noticed as soon by the Watchtower.
Cameron: Oh, we could get noticed by, like, madame Yang yelling out, like, hey, those guys dead. Those people. But, I mean, she's probably got a concussion. So what are the odds that she actually is able to correctly identify us?
Mikayla: Yeah, I probably reminded her that'd be, like, the best thing.
Cameron: Yeah.
Skylar: She has a concussion.
Mikayla: No, if I blinded her with the.
Cameron: Water in her face, and then these times, they don't know. You're not really supposed to sleep on a concussion.
Mikayla: literally having a slave labor. Don't say wow. Like, that's.
Skylar: Less of let's take out the villain in a semi horrible way and more of. Man, you guys are just like the innocence of, youth. Youth? Yeah. Really being lost here.
Mikayla: I know.
Cameron: You got to break a few eggs to make anomalies.
Skylar: I guess so.
Mikayla: You know she killed somebody. I'm assuming she's the one who killed somebody who took me in.
Cameron: When you can just say Okaran, you can just say his name.
Skylar: People have been listening.
Cameron: He's still with us?
Skylar: Yeah.
Mikayla: Is he?
Cameron: Yeah.
Skylar: Okay, so you guys are going through the warehouse?
Mikayla: I guess so.
Dave: Why do you think I've been carrying around this urn?
Mikayla: Wait, what?
Cameron: We're going through the warehouse, full speed. Is that the plan?
Cameron: Sure.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: Go to the warehouse, dodging employees who are putting boxes up. They kind of look a little bit surprised, but these are not, like, the enforcer employees, right? These guys, they're like, whoa, you know, jumping out of the way, just trying not to have you guys run into them or knock stuff out of their hands or whatever the case. you guys get to the end of the warehouse, and you can see, just, like, straight ahead of you is the exit. You see some farmers that are going through, and you see, luckily enough for you, one of the farmers seems to be upset. as you guys are kind of approaching that area, you hear him say.
Dave: Well, that ain't right. I got 15 yuan for my shipment last week, and you're telling me I'm only getting ten yuan this week? It's the same amount. How does that make any sense? I want my appropriate amount.
Skylar: And you hear, one of you hears a familiar voice inside. Guo hears the voice of Chang Sanani.
Dave: Saying, well, the prices have gone down recently due to an overabundance in inventory, so your leaves
Dave: simply arent as valuable as they were when you last brought them in. Its a simple concept of supply and demand. Theres no demand for your leaves, so we have far less need for them. What are you not enough need? You guys seem like you had plenty of need last time. Also, I've got a whole bunch of these trees making these leaves. Where else am I supposed to sell them? well, I suppose that's just too bad, isn't it? All I can offer is two options here. Either you sell me your tea leaves at the price I offered, or you can take them to another nearby tea factory. Except. Oh, that's right. There are no other nearby tea factories.
Skylar: All this is going on as you guys are running up. So before I just, like, close out the situation, and he moves on, and you guys are like, wow. Thanks for the opportunity. What are you guys doing?
Cameron: He's talking to one of the guards.
Skylar: Yeah. he's talking to the guy that runs the finances, that works in the. In the back. So there's the two enforcer guards, and then there's the guy that actually, like, gives people the money and writes it into the books and all this other stuff. And that happens to be Chang Sanani, the guy that used to run the carnival. That bill was honestly. Sorry, what did I say?
Mikayla: Oh, geez.
Skylar: That guo was essentially enslaved at practically, the two. Obviously the two elite guards, they're kind of, like, over there, as well, kind of grouped in with this whole situation, trying to deal with this farmer because he's getting a little bit rowdy.
Dave: What? What's he doing here? Guys, it's the jerk from the carnival. Oh, my ex boss. Sometimes you got a little creepy.
Cameron: That mean that guy you told us about, that. What mean guy?
Mikayla: Like, shouldn't we just keep going? Are we actively running?
Cameron: Yes.
Dave: Feel free to whack that guy with your stick.
Cameron: A drive by. Got it. And I, just, like, brace myself to just get the whacking on the side of this cart.
Skylar: Holy cow. Okay, so, like, there's a cart, like, right in the middle of this exit, and there's definitely enough space for, like, a single file line of people to run through either side of it. This, the left side being the side that's directly adjacent to. It's like a toll booth almost.
Cameron: Okay.
Skylar: Or, like, if you go to, like. And people who are listening may not have any idea what I'm talking about because it's a Midwest based company, but there's been a company called menards that we know and maybe love here in Sioux City, where we are. And if you go to, like, the. The back section, where they have all.
Cameron: The lumber stuff, there's a little contained box.
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to. That's good.
Skylar: Well, I could try poke attack. Yeah, yeah.
Cameron: If I'm really skilled.
Skylar: Yeah. All right, so you're. Are you going on the left side? There are a couple of guards. You're gonna run on the left side closest to the thing and try to donk him on the way.
Cameron: Yeah.
Skylar: And then you'll have to, like, maybe jump over the guards or something. I'm not sure. And then the rest of you guys are going on the right side. So that, I mean, you guys basically have just a free reign going through there.
Cameron: Stay out of the bill whack a zone.
Mikayla: Well, yeah, I'm just. I'm just getting out of there.
Skylar: Okay. All right. so Mika's going right, like I said. So right is the easy path. Nothing standing in your way. Left is a path with the guard but also has the opportunity of donking ching on the way.
Cameron: Can I grab Dilbert and throw Dilbert at the guard, effectively blinding him m for a brief moment, then proceed to hit said guard and take Dilbert back.
Skylar: There's two. Just clarify.
Cameron: Well, I thought there was one on each side.
Skylar: Well, yeah, but they're kind of both grouped over here because this is where the situation is happening, right? This farmer's getting all cranky and then they heard this and they're coming over like, hey, man, you gotta settle down, okay? I don't know why. They sound like Kato from, chin village.
Cameron: You're running out of voices.
Skylar: I know. It's so fun, though.
Cameron: Fine. I'll just go the other way.
Skylar: Okay. I mean, I'm not trying to tell you not to do your plan.
Cameron: I want to figure out a way to get Dilbert into combat.
Skylar: Sure.
Cameron: But, you know, I guess that'll be Chris Gilbert.
Cameron: Gilbert.
Cameron: We'll save him for the final boss.
Skylar: And Guo, you're going to the right as well.
Dave: Yeah.
Skylar: All right. So we got Miguel, Guo and Brock taking the right path. Nothing's standing in your way. You're going to beeline it through. Bill is coming through. He hears. What do you mean you messing with this guy was messing with my buddy, decides to run through. We're going to do rely on your skills and training to donk him.
Cameron: Nine.
Mikayla: Don't.
Skylar: Nine. Okay. Okay. That makes it easy for me. So. Sure. Yeah. Ah, absolutely. You could donk this dude, but you're gonna run smack dab into both the two guards and probably the farmer as well because your bo staff is gonna basically be horizontal sick.
Cameron: And so, yeah, I gotta take them out as well.
Skylar: It might become a big pile up. Yeah.
Cameron: Well, how are you?
Skylar: unless you wanna take an exhaustion.
Cameron: How about I take a fatigue?
Skylar: Or fatigue. Gosh.
Cameron: To, do it the whack
Cameron: perfectly and then, like, I do a little spin, like, flourish and just spin around them and keep going.
Skylar: Yeah, I'll tell you what?
Cameron: I make it all one smooth m move.
Skylar: You make it one big, smooth move as you come.
Cameron: No, I'm a ninja.
Skylar: And you sort of just whack. You just, like, stick out your staff and do a nice, like, jab straight into chinks. And on his, like, nose, you hear, ow. And then, the guards are kind of, like, surprised because I'd like to think the farmer was probably standing right now in between them. And the guards kind of couldn't see past him to see you, but now they see you as you get closer, right? And they're like, whoa. But before they can really do much, you leap onto the farmer's cart and then kind of jump and flip over the guards, landing on the other side and continuing into the, path ahead with your friends. They turn around surprised, and one of them, you swear that. He just says, hey, you guys forgot to get paid, you dummies. And then the other way, maybe, like, one of you probably, like, looks back and sees the other one kind of, like, swat him on the head. And he's like. He just starts shouting and kind of pointing in your direction, but you're not sure what he's saying. chang, you can just see. I mean, you donked his nose. He obviously broke his nose. He's got, like, just nosebleed everywhere. And you guys race off into glohan.
Cameron: I flash him a thumbs up.
Dave: I yell back, take that, you, claude.
Skylar: Yeah, you just. He's, like, shaking his fist at you guys as you guys run away. He has no idea who you guys are. You need to look at anybody. And, as you guys get into sort of the forests in the distance, you've. You're not being pursued. You look back, you feel pretty comfortable that you're not being pursued. so did y'all get the.
Cameron: What you needed from the office?
Cameron: Yeah, I think. Mika.
Mikayla: Hey. I got a letter here. I'm gonna read it to you.
Cameron: Well, I've been practicing. I've been practicing.
Cameron: Have we gone away? Are we still running while we're saying this? No, we're.
Mikayla: No, no, no.
Cameron: You guys are hiding in the forest. Now. Practice taking a breather.
Dave: We're on the lamb.
Mikayla: I'll finish it.
Cameron: Okay. Yeah, that's fair.
Cameron: That's fair.
Skylar: Okay.
Cameron: rock. Rock. That's my name. That's my. Good job.
Cameron: Yeah.
Cameron: You know, I don't want to show off too much. Why don't you read it? You know, I, don't want to. It's been a long day. You know, I counted a lot of leaves. It's been a while, so.
Mikayla: Yeah, you got it. I got you.
Skylar: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dave: Reading and counting. We wouldn't want you to exert your brain too much.
Cameron: Right. My brain might explode if I do that.
Cameron: All I did today was hit stuff with stick.
Dave: It might.
Cameron: Honestly, you've done way more smarter stuff than me.
Cameron: Right, right.
Mikayla: All right. So you got Brock. It actually says, dear Brock, but you got it good.
Cameron: I got my name.
Skylar: You missed the whole first word, but you did really good with the second one.
Cameron: Straight to the word he recognized.
Skylar: He just starts going through the whole letter, and he's like, brock, Brock, Brock, rock.
Mikayla: I think it all hits this at once, but.
Skylar: Oh, okra. Oh, yeah.
Mikayla: Dear Brock, I want to begin by saying, you are enough. You strive so hard to be the strongest, the best, the first in everything, in anything you do. I want you to know that even though having such initiative and drive is so inspiring and that your dedication doesn't go unnoticed, know that you are so much more than anything you could ever achieve. You are not defined. This is so nice.
Skylar: I try to do my best.
Mikayla: You are not defined solely by what you do and what you accomplish. You are the best at being you, and it's okay to accept that. With that being said, I want to acknowledge your incredible accomplishments. You've been through so much, and you've punched through, just like you punch in the ring with power and accuracy. You support your family to the best of your ability, and you're always willing to put yourself in danger to ensure your friends are safe. You are a hero in my book, my boy. Keep being the strongest and the best. Keep protecting those weaker than you and those in need. Your friends aren't as strong as you, and they don't have that family closed or that you have. So be sure to be emotionally available to them. Don't leave them behind. They need and rely on you. And I know sometimes that can be a hard position to lead within. But don't forget that sometimes you have to follow. Bill. Guo and Micah. all have different strengths and weaknesses, that, when all of you work together, can be balanced and overcome. There's nothing the four of you can't do when you put your minds and muscles together. Ps. Thanks for reading this to Bill.
Skylar: Which obviously, I mean, how would he know,
Skylar: you know?
Mikayla: I have a little tear in my eye. Aw, that was so nice.
Cameron: Well, we probably should have read that before I went off on my own to go and fight Madame Yang by myself, shouldn't I?
Cameron: Well, now you know we were all caught up. Brock, it's fine.
Cameron: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cameron: Bill's, like, leaning against a tree, and he's, like, resting on his bo staff with, like, one arm. And he's just kind of, like, hunked over. I, my character, Bill has been fatigued almost this entire time, so full fatigue, mind you.
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: So he is exhausted.
Skylar: He's exhaust. Absolutely.
Mikayla: I mean, Mika's pretty close behind, right?
Cameron: And Brock, he had, like two left.
Cameron: and I mean, and that's not.
Skylar: Even considering the conditions.
Cameron: Guo's doing great.
Mikayla: I think it would be wise if we all just found a safe place to rest for a couple hours.
Cameron: That's what we're doing.
Mikayla: Yeah.
Cameron: Let's rest here for a little bit.
Dave: Guo uses his foraging skills to find some suitable moss to, make kind of a cool poultice. And he brings it to Bill, say, hey. Hey, Bill. I got this for your arm. Do you got any bad burns?
Cameron: Well, I'm guessing you mean recent.
Dave: Yeah. From that water?
Skylar: Yeah.
Cameron: yeah. And I've never showed anyone this before, so. And Bill kind of grabs his shirt and he lifts off his shirt, showing you to show his shoulder, mind you, that's his whole upper body. Like the whole upper right part of his chest. This guy, boy got hit. And so he lifts up his shirt and he kind of, like, moves it to the side. And what you see is, yes, the right upper, like his upper pec, I guess. I don't really know the body, but it's like his right upper pec to his shoulder is like a bright red m. And that's where he got hit. But that's not what everyone, if they're all looking, sees. Instead, they see what they always knew was Bill had a burn scar on his hand, but then they see that his whole right arm up to his right shoulder and then going down his chest to his body, like, go towards his, like, abdomen, going to, towards his pants is a giant burnt scar that's just full on involved. Like, it, like, envelops, his whole right side of his body. And he kind of like, just motions to the shoulder and goes, yeah, that's, yeah, that's the wound right now.
Skylar: Whoa.
Dave: I might need some more moss.
Cameron: Oh, no, don't, don't worry about that. Rest of that stuff. That's been there for a good while.
Dave: Wow, that's pretty gnarly, I guess. What happened?
Cameron: I was caught in a house barn fire.
Dave: You were?
Cameron: Yeah.
Dave: And did all that?
Cameron: Well, I would have gotten out, but I went back from my brother.
Dave: And.
Cameron: That'S when I caught on fire. So, yeah, he, he didn't make it. I pulled out my brother on fire and my arms and legs went with him. So, yeah, anyways, my right shoulder hurts kind of bad, so you could work on that.
Dave: Oh, yeah, yeah, sure.
Skylar: And with that tough backstory revelation, I think that's where we'll close out episode eight. Hey everyone.
